Under the supervision of the Director of Automation, the Automation Technician plays an essential role in implementing automated systems. This person is responsible for programming the systems and commissioning them, while proposing solutions to problems encountered. The Automation Technician is at the heart of starting up automated equipment, aiming to achieve a level of excellence.
Main responsibilities:
Participate in design, modification and modernization projects for specialized equipment.
Program PLCs, human-machine interfaces (HMI) and robots from different manufacturers.
Supervise and validate electrical installation work in the workshop and on customer site.
Perform testing and commissioning of automated equipment and robotic cells.
Provide technical support to users.

Requirements
- Have a DEC or AEC in electrical engineering or relevant training
- Possess a BAC in electrical engineering (or related field) is an asset
- Being a member of the Order of Engineers is an asset
- Be willing to travel in industrial environments
- Have at least 3 years of experience in automation
