Automation Technician

Description

Under the supervision of the Automation Chief, the Automation Technician plays a key role in implementing automated systems. This individual is responsible for programming and commissioning these systems, as well as proposing solutions to any issues encountered. The Automation Technician is central to the startup of automated equipment, with a focus on achieving excellence.

Main responsibilities:

  • Participate in design, modification and modernization projects for specialized equipment
  • Program PLCs, human-machine interfaces (HMI) and robots from different manufacturers
  • Supervise and validate electrical installation work in the workshop and on customer site
  • Perform testing and commissioning of automated equipment and robotic cells
  • Provide technical support to users

Requirements

  • Hold a college diploma or technical certificate in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Being a member of the Order of Engineers is an asset
  • Be willing to travel in industrial environments
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in automation

Mechanical Design Engineer

Description

Under the responsibility of the General Manager, the Mechanical Design Engineer will join the multidisciplinary robotics and automated equipment team. The main challenge will be to oversee the design of robotic cells and various related equipment to enable the automation of complex industrial processes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design innovative solutions to automate industrial processes
  • Collaborate with different disciplines within the team to create engineering synergy
  • Perform concept validations based on input from business partners
  • Conduct calculations
  • Perform robotic simulations
  • Design pneumatic systems
  • Participate in the manufacturing system by approving manufacturing trees, bills of materials (BOM), and production items
  • Contribute to the establishment, improvement, and maintenance of design standards
  • Conduct site surveys with business partners
  • Participate in workshop testing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent training and experience)
  • Member of the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in mechanical design in a manufacturing system
